PRAYER UPDATE FROM JAMES

TRUSTING GOD THROUGH THE STORM
A Call To Prayer

Posted: Friday, November 21, 2025

On Wednesday, November 19th, James reached out to me ("maama Sue") with a message describing his current burden:

"Good morning Maama, how are you doing today Maama. Am sorry the delay to reply But I was overwhelmed. And In hardship you taught me to seek God first. Maama yesterday i teared up because of the situation. Its challenging time here as 6 of our children are currently sick: Mulunji Joy, Kigozi Ronald, Nangendo Patience, Atukunda Michelle, Nakuwadde Lillian. We're counting on your prayers during this difficult period. Your prayers would mean a lot to us, Maama. Am overwhelmed, but we're trusting in God's goodness and care for children. Thank you again for always being there for me in every situation. All of them the doctor confirmed malaria But i bought them medicine yesterday."

To face one sick child is a challenge; to face six simultaneously, all diagnosed with malaria, is an overwhelming cross to bear, especially when faced with no resources for medical care, food shortages and rent due. James's sharing he "teared up" and felt "overwhelmed" only highlights his immense love and dedication to the children under his care ... whom we love too.

The Situation Intensifies, But Hope Remains

The situation became more complex as the week progressed.

  • Thursday, November 20th: James shared that the sickness had spread: "Maama, Olivia (House Parent / Care Taker for the girls) is also sick and her baby, others recovering still on medication, but not in bad condition as before." While it was a relief to hear some were "not in bad condition as before," the number of those suffering increased.

  • Friday, November 21st: The reality of the struggle was again evident in James's morning update: "Maama, morning! I hope you're doing well. I'm writing to share a heartfelt update. The children's situation is tough, but we had a doctor visit them at home today. He treated them, including Olivia, Christine, Michelle, and Carlos, who were in a bad way... I'm overwhelmed, Maama, and the situation is harsh. Please pray for us."

Our Response: Immediate and Sustained Prayer

James's commitment to seeking God first, even when he feels overwhelmed, is a powerful testimony to his spiritual growth and trust. He asked for our prayers, and that is exactly what I'm reaching out to all to join together and do ...

We are praying specifically for:

  1. Divine and Complete Healing: For a swift and total recovery for all the children—Mulunji Joy, Kigozi Ronald, Nangendo Patience, Atukunda Michelle, Nakuwadde Lillian, Christine, Carlos, Joseph (nosebleeds) and as well as the caretaker, Olivia, and her baby. We pray that the medication works quickly and completely.

  2. Strength for James: For renewed energy, peace, and spiritual stamina for James as he navigates this heavy burden, tending to so many needs at once.

  3. Protection and Comfort: For the harshness of the situation to be eased, for the children who are "in a bad way" to turn the corner quickly, and for God's comforting presence to fill their home.

A Call to Prayer

If you are reading this, please pause right now and lift up James and the children in prayer. We believe the prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective (James5:16).
Please pray for the malaria to be completely vanquished, for provision and for James, the CareTakers and children to feel the tangible support of their "extended" family as he walks through this deep valley together.

James ... we stand with you  in trusting in God’s goodness and care.
