Passing the Baton:  Strategic Growth & Prayer Priorities for MCH Dear MCH Community, As we step into this new season, I   (aka maama Sue)  want to share an update on the journey and transitions taking place at Momo Children’s Home.   When this ministry began, I took on the role of spiritual oversight alongside a handful of faithful friends who also stepped in to help meet the immediate practical needs for food, clothing, medical and housing.

  Great News: We Have a Fiscal Sponsor! Dear Friends and Supporters, We are thrilled to share a major milestone for Momo Children’s Home! As of June 18, 2026 , we have officially signed an agreement with our new Fiscal Sponsor, the Christian Ministry Alliance (CMA) ! What This Means for You Tax-Deductible Donations: Because CMA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit ministry organization, all of your financial gifts toward MCH will now be fully tax-deductible. Fee Structure: As our fiscal sponsor, CMA will handle the collection and distribution of all our donations for a standard 6% administrative fee (plus a 4% processing fee for online transactions). Action Required for Recurring Donors Within the next week, MCH will be fully set up with our new CMA donation page.   We ask you continue to pray for: -  A bountiful harvest - A "fiscal sponsor" - Favor with people of influence, and a path to grow their donor base.   - 3 month supply of essential needs (food, clothing, housing and medical) - The ability to meet the bedding and housing requirements for NGO status.   (Note: structurally we are re-aligning as FBC (Family Based Care) vs orphanage.  See explanation below)   - Education and skills training.   They "yearn" to go to school, but to send the children to the local school however costs $5200 per term, so for now they must continue to be home schooled.   Pray for basic supplies (paper, pens, books, etc) as well as curriculum and people to adequately teach. Thank you for the birthday wishes! Prayers please ... Prayers as we move closer to registering the home as an official NGO orphanage.   We've been working on drafting the Articles of Incorporation over the last few months.   Thankful to "Uncle Fer" and Pastor Eddie for helping mitigate / minimize the attorney fees, leaving "just" the government / filing fees.  If you wish to help with that we guestimate they will be approximately $250.    The benefit to registering is minimal with regards to government assistance; it's more to help James and Team add "legitimacy" when engaging with potential donors there in Uganda.    Pray for God's provision.  Pray that not only essential needs are met, but a time will come sooner then later that the workers, the Team are able to receive a salary.  Prayers for a fiscal sponsor here in the USA.    To date, I am handling personally the donations in a personal account.   If you know of ...

Momo Moments Update August 12, 2025 Written by James (translation and grammar edits by AI) In our darkness, God shone His light!!  Here's our story of God's faithfulness this past 8 weeks: When Sickness Struck ... Viola , the children's spiritual and educational teacher on the Team, fell ill with typhoid and prolonged malaria. We rushed her to the hospital, and the doctor's words were overwhelming. The bills were piling up, and we didn't know how we'd pay them. Christine and the girls' caretaker Olivia also got malaria.     We felt like we were drowning in worries. We were exhausted, emotionally and financially drained. It was a hard moment, and we felt lost and alone. But then, Maama Sue stepped in, reminding us that "Jesus Cares." She prayed with us, and we felt God's peace wash over us. She encouraged us to trust, to read the Bible and pray, and we did. Meet Dr Steven - A Vital Supporter of the Momo Team We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Steven.   31 years old, married with one child, Dr Stevens is a practicing MD for the past 9 years and is currently pursuing a Masters to specialize in pediatric care.   Dr Steven and James met when James' father was sick and admitted to the hospital he worked at.  Since then, he has maintained a relationship with James as a brother.   When James started to take care of the children Steven saw it as something great and a sign of love and responsibility.  Dr Steven loves to help those in need, and sees the work with the Momo children as a blessing to watch them grow with happiness as they're being equipped to make and do something for themselves. With his deep commitment to service, he’s already helping us work toward meeting the most urgent health needs of the children.
