MCH Supporter: Jodianne G

Hello fellow prayer warriors and supporters,

If you had told me a year ago that I would be considered part of a beautiful, bustling extended family in Uganda, I might have wondered how? Today however I write to you not just as someone who supports this ministry, but as "Auntie Jodianne" - a title given to me by the children and a team that have entirely changed my life.

When I first learned about the ministry the spring of 2025 and met James, the team, and the children, my heart broke. It was devastating to see the horrific conditions the children were enduring - eating once-daily food rations off dirt floors, with no beds to sleep in, no shoes on their feet, and barely any clothing to keep them warm.

The Holy Spirit placed a heavy burden on my heart, and I knew I wanted to help in any small way I could. What started as a desire to support from afar quickly grew into a deep, relational journey. Getting to meet weekly on Wednesdays has been an absolute privilege.

Together, alongside all of you who pray and give, I have gotten to witness absolute joy and hope replace despair on the children's faces. As we journeyed through the beginning of Genesis, learning of God's Creation, the fall of man, and His beautiful plan of redemption, I watched the children's faith grow. Honestly, watching their trust in God grow despite their hardships has been a lesson that perhaps He wanted me to learn. We’ve also witnessed what only The Lord Almighty God does best, make miracles happen. It has been a blessing to watch Maama Sue and learn by her example, exactly what it means to be a disciple of The Lord Jesus Christ!

This past year, we watched Maama Sue work tirelessly, advocating and guiding the team through the massive milestone of transitioning and being officially recognized by the Ugandan government as a formal Community Based Organization (CBO). Through every legal challenge, the team and the children modeled what unwavering faith looks like.

This is why I don't feel like a detached donor. Through this connection, God blesses us by giving us an extended family to love; Faith in action. The vision ahead is so exciting as the home steps toward full self-sustainability, serving as a bright light and making disciples.

To my fellow supporters, I encourage you: Our prayers and our pieces in this puzzle truly matter. We aren't just funding a project; we are walking alongside James, Julius, Fred, Olivia, and all the precious children. Being a part of this has been such an honor that I want to invite you to share your heart, too. If you are reading this and supporting this ministry, what has this journey meant to you? I encourage you to write a post, share your story, and encourage our community!

As dearest James said to me right from the beginning... "It shall be permanent."

With love and gratitude, Auntie Jodianne
