Answering the Call - Aunt Jodianne

Finding Family.   A Life Changing Experience

by "Aunt Jodianne"

After looking over the vetting report from Africa Missions and seeing this is real, the Holy Spirit placed a heaviness on my heart all evening long. I remember I kept looking at the children ...

the outside latrine

the dirt floor in which they had to eat the scarce bit of food that they had

They also had to sleep on that dirt floor as they have no "real" beds. I remember noticing that many had no shoes on their tiny feet.

Well, needless to say The Holy Spirit did not let me rest that evening.

The next day I remember messaging Sue, the leader of our Mentoring Team who has been working tirelessly for these precious children & the whole caregiver team. Sue has been discipling James since October of 2024.  I expressed to her that The Holy Spirit placed this family heavily upon my heart. A few days later I received a message from Sue asking me if I would like to join her and a few others in this calling to show this family the love of Christ and make a difference in their lives. There was no hesitation in me.  That evening a team of us was formed and wasted no time in getting things moving.

Unexpected Treasures: Finding Family in Uganda

Helping with Bible lessons and being a part of this ministry project has truly been a life-changing experience for me.  It's more then a "ministry project".  These children along with the Momo caregiver team have become family to me.   (My heart melts to hear them call me "Auntie Jodianne"!)  The tenacity that they have shown me to remain joyful, loving, and thankful to God despite their circumstances of continuing to face food shortages, constant battles with Malaria and typhoid has truly left me in awe of them.

The powerful testimony of the Love of Christ

When we gather together on Wednesday, I (aka Aunt Jodianne :-) along with Uncle Ben, Aunt Steffi, Uncle Fer and Maama Sue from the Mentor Team) are always greeted by these precious children with dancing and singing God’s praises! it's a powerful reminder that their faith does not waver, even when they're facing challenges just to get their basic needs met—things we often take for granted.

The warmth and love the Momo team and children have shown me has touched and blessed me so deeply. Our God is always faithful, His goodness has no ends. He has blessed us immensely with our generous donors. Much more work lies ahead to meet our goal for these precious children so we continue to ask for your prayers, sharing, and if led partner with us monthly. Together we can continue to make a difference placing our faith and trust in God. Let's continue to show these beautiful children the love and goodness of Christ Jesus. Please join our virtual family gathering on Wednesdays 10 AM CST where you can experience the joy, the love and their unwavering faith in God that Momo Children's Home has.

I thank God for placing this family in my heart and I love each and every one of you dearly.

Love and blessings,
Auntie Jodianne
